From the beginning

I became a motorcycle fan thanks to my father. He liked racing and I’m like him. I did my first race, when I was 14 years old. It is quite late, but it is better than never and I’m happy for that. It was impossible to start sooner, because of my hip joint, which started to disintegrate when I was 9.

I was riding minibike Blata for 3 years and became the Czech Champion. The move from minibike to real road racing was very expensive so we tried scooter racing. However, our old racing scooter was most of the season out of order. We managed to repair it for the last 4 races and we won them all. After this, we received a great offer from Jim Lomas to do the Aprilia Challenge Cup for him. So we definitively moved on big racing circuits. It wasn’t a big problem for us and we won all the races and the Championship. It was a great season. In season 2001, I changed the class again and won the Czech Junior 125GP Champion for Lithotex team.
